Oscars 2025: Did You Know This List of Nominees Could Change Film History?

This awards season, marked by the devastating wildfires in Southern California, is finally regaining its rhythm. The Critics Choice Awards, originally scheduled for January 14, will now take place on February 7, just one day before the 77th Directors Guild of America Awards and the 36th Producers Guild of America Awards. Meanwhile, one of the most highly anticipated moments has arrived: the announcement of the 2025 Academy Awards nominations (Oscars).

The announcement, initially set for Friday, January 17, was postponed to Thursday, January 23. This decision allowed members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, many of whom were affected or displaced by the fires, more time to cast their votes.

The nomination ceremony was hosted by actors Bowen Yang, known for Saturday Night Live and Wicked, and Rachel Sennott, acclaimed for her work in Shiva BabyBodies Bodies Bodies, and Bottoms.

Should we be focusing our attention on The Brutalist, Babygirl, A Real Pain, The Substance, Anora, I’m Still Here, and Emilia Pérez in this year’s Oscars race?.

Here’s the full list of nominees for the 2025 Academy Awards.
